Seven years into start of the 21st century a very good-looking 30-year gay Brit, returns from over 10 years in the USA where he became an award winning fashion designer with the top Nova Nukes, Inc., fashion house.

Scott Farrell, left behind his lover, Myles Crawford, a famous porn star, to spend Christmas with his lesbian friends in dear old Plymouth, a place that would never, ever, be the same again!

On the rebound he meets a slightly younger guy which results in a relationship that a certain evil racist guy does not approve and tells him in more ways than one to ‘get out of town or else, after a new found friend, an Indian lady and her cat dies mysteriously!

Scott goes to his flat in London, primarily to see his ailing mother in a nursing home, and it is there that he acquires a modelling contract from his boss in the USA only to find soon afterwards a shattering tabloid accusation that he wrote a novel that was banned and was also a porn star.

His contract is revoked, his friends desert him and his mother dies and nothing could get any worse than when his former American lover turn up in England with his married older guy.

To state that he reinvents his life is unbelievable because the events change in a way that can only happen in a fruitful, gay, camp true world, where the weak overturns the strong. This is another novel where the author mixes humour, sadness and boldness that triumphs against all the odds, with inevitable consequences.

0 stars just... awful
this book is a miserable slog. It follows about every cliched concept of the 'tortured gay guy'... porn, models, horribly cheesy dialog, lesbian fag-hags... whatever. The plot is just contrived and unbelievable - i'm a little mystified that this was even published. The narrator simply reads this text as if he as bored as the listener. It is monotone, flat and passionless - even the inappropriately placed sex scenes.

5 stars THIRD TIME LUCKY
I have read the author's other 2 novels which I thoroughly enjoyed but this one I think is outstanding. It revolves around a gay guy who has split up with his lover of 10 years (a porn star) in the USA and he decides to visit his lesbian friends in Plymouth and to visit his mother around Christmas. Events lead him to meet a younger guy and and racist tells him to leave the city or else. He gets a modelling contract and is exposed as a writer of a banned novel and also appeared in porn. What happens next is almost on the verge of suicide when a strange thing happens that revolves around what had happened in the past and perhaps his destiny is fulfilled in the nick of time. Read it you'll love it. I did!
